What made me want to read Finding Perfect was the whole make-over of the guy for a change. All too often we see the girl changing her outward appearance etc. to get attention, in Finding Perfect it was the guy which made it a bit more interesting.
Ben and Paige are both incredibly smart students, but Paige has been struggling with one of her classes so Ben agrees to help her out under one condition that Paige helps him get the girl of his dream, her best friend. Of course you already know how books like these go, eventually Ben realizes that Paige is more his type and falls for her hard and it was just all so cute, the romance was innocent and sweet and it was fun seeing the two eventually figure things out.
Besides the romance, there was Paige having to deal with figuring out what she wanted to do vs what others wanted her to do. She was trying to follow in her father's footsteps of becoming a neurologist to make him proud but deep down she knew it wasn't something she wanted so there was a little bit of drama with her parents. I was rooting for her the whole time even with how short of a book Finding Perfect is Highley did a great job developing the characters to where I connected with them both very easily.
Overall Finding Perfect is great if you're looking for a light adorable romance, maybe as an in-between book after an intense read.

Perfect plot, romantic read!

This is a brilliant high school romance with some of the best, well rounded, characters in a teen book I have ever read. The characters grow throughout the story in a believable manner and it is great to read the story from the points of view of the two main characters. The female lead is the daughter of wealthy parents with high expectations, Paige Westfield, whilst the male lead is the son of a single Mum who is struggling to make ends meet but loving and supportive of her beloved, hard working son, Ben Franklin. They are both exemplary students but whilst Ben tends to be overlooked in school, Paige is somehow expected to be perfect – hardworking, high achieving, a talented pianist, caring, friendly, helpful, sweet and attractive, too. When she struggles in calculus and only achieves a D, she is mortified. Fortunately, Ben offers to help her raise her attainment in exchange for help altering his image so her best friend will at least notice him!
Coping with preconceived ideas about each other that quickly need revising this is a delightful story of the contrasting expectations and pressures imposed on high achieving teens. Paige’s Mum is dictatorial, blinkered and nothing Paige does seems to achieve the standards she expects her daughter to meet. Paige is struggling to cope with the pressure and it is great to see her mature and grow as the story progresses. Ben’s Mum may not be wealthy with money but she is wealthy in love and how she and Ben support and care for each other..
With misunderstandings, further attempts to be perfect and growing dissatisfaction with her future, life is anything but simple for Paige! Whilst Paige may give up on being perfect, the author has succeeded in writing a novel that is perfect for escaping into, a great read with fantastically developed characters and an enthralling plot. I do hope there will be a sequel starring Paige’s best friend and school sweetheart Zoey, probably with Luke as her other half! I’ll certainly be looking out for other books by this author in future and have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone who enjoys teen contemporary romance.

This one will leave you smiling!

I loved this book. It was a sweet story that hit all the right notes for me. The characters were written with real depth and heart. The entire cast was awesome, but for me it was Paige and Ben who really shined. The romance was portrayed honestly with a gradual buildup as they grew to realize how much they cared for each other. I really appreciate that in a story.
The writing was topnotch and the pacing was excellent. I couldn’t put the book down. This was such a fun read that I finished the story smiling. (Well, I was pretty much grinning throughout.)
If you enjoy well-written, contemporary YA romance—heck, if you just enjoy a fun, feel-good story—I can’t recommend this one enough.
